How to Profit from Terrorism

How to Profit from Terrorism - Ask the Democrats about their new Strategy
The dramatic failure of the Democratic Party in the last election led to a frantic search for a new tactic. It didn’t take long. With nothing positive to offer, and with their usual win-at-all-costs mentality, the Democrats have already started a cynical new campaign almost sure to work: blame the Republicans in advance for the next inevitable terrorist atrocity.

They know that the administration cannot prevent at least one more major terrorist strike within the US. They also believe that when it happens, this time, Americans will blame the Republicans for not preventing it. With a compliant press on their side, they can safely ignore their own complicity in this event and hold the Republicans responsible.

Al Quaeda is the best new ally of the Democratic Party, but don’t expect the Democrats to be ashamed (Al Quaeda, on the other hand, may be ashamed to be affiliated with the Donkey party).

The drum beat has already started. With the release of the new Bin Laden tape (this author is still skeptical), the Democrat spokesmen are suddenly attacking Bush for not catching him! Expect the attacks to get worse with each success by Al Queda.

Never mind that Bush is using a CIA long abused and terrorized by Democrat lawmakers.

Never mind that he is dependent on an FBI that was kept busy chasing phantom right wing terrorists under Clinton, while Bin Laden was ignored except during times of domestic political crisis.

Never mind that Democrats insisted on laws that prevented law enforcement from preventing terrorism - only allowing prosecutions after Americans had been martyred.

Never mind that the Democrats have been holding the Homeland Security department hostage to the special interests of the unions.

Never mind that the Democrats have resisted all reasonable immigration reform.

Never mind that they have forced states to issue identification with no serious checks.

Never mind that they don’t allow profiling which might catch terrorists, instead forcing grannies and Medal of Honor winners to be strip searched.

None of this will count the next time hundreds of Americans are slaughtered!

This time, the Democrats will reap a political harvest from the deaths of our citizens!

Dude simmer down and do some fact checking. The Republicans run everything now yet problems remain. Terrorism is a problem not because of Democrats or Republicans. It’s a problem because Islamic fanatics have a plan. Don’t think for a minute that Democrats don’t want to stop terrorism. In fact Bush too has done little to secure our borders. He too has pulled police off the streets by cutting budgets to them. I think we’re in this together. As a Democrat I don’t hate you (I’m sure you hate me) but your views are a little too simplistic.

    Dude,
I see you raise two standard stereotype of Conservatives:haters and simple minded. This is a typical bigotted response of too many on the left - using a false stereotype and believing it to be true. Beyond that, your posting on the “Regime Change” comment proved clearly that you are the simple minded one. For the record, I have no hatred for you, only contempt.

Most of the rest of your points are something we probably have some agreement on.

However, I stand by my posting. And I really am not reassured that the Democrats want to stop Terrorism, because their record and their leaders give me no confidence whatsoever that they would have a clue about how to do it, or the cojones to do what is necessary.

Certainly the Clinton administration screwed it up royally by leading the terrorists to believe that Americans are cowards, willing to throw bombs and cruise missiles but afraid to fight on the ground.

His first confrontation with Al Qaeda, the 1993 World Trade Center attack, one which was an attempt to kill 100,000 civilians and included a weapon of mass destruction (cyanide gas which fortunately was incinerated by the bomb), he treated as a mere police action, and he failed to put in measures concomitant with a proven threat of mass-terrorism. His second one in Mogadishu, his administration failed to provide the necessary weapons systems, and when as a result Americans were slaughtered, he bailed out - a clear victory for Al Qaeda (who were involved in the fight and derived the tactic of shooting RPG’s at tail rotors). Clinton hamstrung the CIA by greatly restricting their ability to recruit assets (this was clearly done to avoid embarrassment of the administration). He treated another serious Al Qaeda-linked plot for mass casualties and serious economic damage (the New York City tunnels attack plan) as just another police issue. He failed to adequately respond to the mass casualty attacks on our embassies in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole. He failed to deal properly with daily acts of war by Iraq when they engaged our no-fly-zone aircraft, and he failed to respond to another act of war when Saddam attempted an assassination on his predecessor.

If you understand anything about Middle Eastern cultures, you know that cowardice and failure to avenge attacks is despised and read as a sign of weakness.

Now we have Kerry. Kerry helped force the US surrender of South Vietnam after the war was effectively won, an action which greatly enabled the enemy of the time, the USSR, which was substantially more successful in third world subversion as a result, and even overtly invaded Afghanistan after having correctly judged Carter as a fool.

Even the North Koreans are in favor of a Kerry election. They are distributing copies of his speeches in that very closed society, the most oppressive on earth. Iran is also supporting Kerry. You have some great people on the side of the Democrats.
