I’m Shocked! Dishonesty from a Peacnik?

Posted By John Moore on February 14, 2003

USS Clueless has discovered a weblog by an American peacenik in Baghdad. All in all, an interesting look into the mind of a Useful Fool for Saddam.

Revealing, however, is this fragment:

Included were others such as “For Oil And Zionist Aggression, America Kills Iraq’s Children.” While I agree in principal with the premise, having such a sign behind our heads for the AP to photograph didn’t seem so wise.

A little analysis is in order. First, note that this idiot believes in the slogan, but doesn’t want to be photographed by AP with it! In other words, he is simply and purely dishonest!

Moving on, we note in this one little slogan three classic but silly falsehoods:

  • America is Killing Iraqi Children – this refers to the UN imposed sanctions. Of course, if children are dying it is because Saddam is letting them die.
  • This is all about “zionist aggression.” In other words, it is about Israel’s attempt to defend itself from terrorists. How they connect that to Iraq is… well… the realm of Useful Fools
  • It is about oil. This one has been thoroughly demolished throughout the blogosphere. For one simple counter-argument… if the US wanted to control oil, we would invade Saudi Arabia and Kuwait – much easier targets – not Iraq.

  1. maybe says:

You state that if US wanted to control oil, we would invade Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. That is stupid comment. An attack of any country considered a “friend” of the U.S. would be a quicker route to political suicide than the route Prez Bush & Co. are currently taking. Whereas attacking an “enemy” country (who used to be a “friend”) is a more acceptable solution. Your comment was not only stupid, but probably the silliest damn comment I’ve read in a long, long while.
