Boycott French Goods

Posted By John Moore on February 27, 2003

[UPDATE FOR FRENCH READERS: We are at war with terrorism. Iraq is just one campaign. For those of you who want to stop us, watch THIS and you will see why we will NOT STOP UNTIL ALL POTENTIAL ENEMIES ARE DEALT WITH!]

[UPDATE 3/27/03: It turns out that the French are the reason our troops were unable to transit Turkey - click here for details. This treachery against our troops during war is yet another reason to boycott these slime.]

[UPDATE 4/20/03: The US has lost only one A-10 tank-buster aircraft ever in combat. It was lost near Baghdad Airport to a French-made Roland missile. A cache of Rolands was found nearby, with year 2002 dates on them - a clear sanctions violation.]

[Update 4/20/03: The US would like to restart the oil-for-food program and to remove sanctions from the now-defanged Iraq. The French and Russians, who before the war wanted a reduction of sanctions, now want to keep sanctions in full force, to the detriment of the people of Iraq. They are doing this completely unwarranted and transparently cynical act of blackmail in order to force good commercial deals from Iraq.]

France has been obstructing America’s effort to defend herself, and has been doing so out of its own selfish economic and political interests.

If you dislike this behavior, send the French a message by not buying their goods. If you are French, replace your government!

Boycott Thomson Multimedia products, RCA Brand etc they are owned by the French Government

  2. Chris says:

Hmmm…. Short memories….. Thinking of short memories, how about the fact that we wouldn’t ever have won the Revolutionary War without the help of the French…. Or that they bankrupted their economy at that time to help us do succeed?

So, while they are figuring out more French goods to not purchase, I hope they remember to box up old lady Liberty and ship her back to the French. If you recall, she was a gift from the French. But, the way things are going, we won’t have any liberties left to speak of….

  3. Gypsy,

Actually, you forgot another one. The idiots sold us the Louisiana Purchase. Ha ha ha!

I’d say the deaths of our troops paid for anything the French did before that.

So what have they done for us recently? Well…

They failed to hold Hitler in check until too late (sound familiar… appeasing a dictator?).

They let us expend many lives rescuing them from Hitler.

They screwed up much of the world with their vicious colonialism (in comparison to Britain, which left most of its colonies in good shape with a tradition of rule of law and democracy).

They messed up Vietnam (their colony) and dragged us into it.

They obstructed NATO and pulled out of Nato military cooperation in the middle of the cold war.

They are intentionally thwarting our attempts to defend ourselves, with the clear purpose of increasing France’s influence in the world.

I’d say on balance they are way into the debt side.

  4. Chris Boyle says:

………………It is in the heart of Araby, so a conquest there will leave us in a better position for dealing with other countries that might help or provide sanctuary to Islamofascists………………

well that is the greatest bullshit I ever heard.
What do You mean dealing with those countries????
What we are doing right now is the best recruiting campaign Bin Laden ever got:
    When will everyone understand.
They will deal with us alright. It will last longer than we ever dreamed of. It will last longer than world war2 and Vietnam together.
    You bloody fools!!!

    BUSH SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. By dealing with them, I mean forcing them to stop spreading vicious Islamofascist propaganda and acquiring weapons of mass destruction.

And we don’t need to recruit for Bin Laden… he does just fine. The Arab world is full of hate, because of its own internal contradictions and its pathetic failures.

But in any case, it is better to be hated and feared than merely hated.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Chris!

  6. Chris Boyle, I deleted your last comment where you faked your identity, because it was nothing but obscenities about our president. Criticism is fine on this board, and you can see lots of it. Vandalism is not, and your post was about as intelligent as painting your insults all over the wall of a building. So it is gone.

Yes, some of us know how to find out *exactly* who does the posting, you ignorant twit! I was hacking computers before you were born. Checked your hard drive lately???

You are actually chrisboyle12@aol.com and you are what we call a blogroach.

Would you douchebags please stop using all caps. It is really pointless and hard to read while laughing at your idiotic parroting of every tired cliche’ on both sides. Our economies are so intertwined it would be pointless to boycott anything. (Although bovine blood in wine does sound nasty.) On the grand scheme of things, this is more like a marital spat. The French are the bitchy wife on her period, the Germans are the grumpy old fart father-in-law, and the Americans are the poor working slob supporting them all. The English are the drinking buddies the Americans comiserate with. After the US stomps the crap out of Iraq, (the crack dealer next door who’s secretly porking France), things will go back to normal. Then the US will need to start working on the infestation of radical muslims, (like roaches, you can’t wipe em out, but you have to spray ‘em once in a while to keep their populations down. Damn things bit me on the ass last year!)

  8. R. Fahey says:

I think that the U.S. should pull back, protect the arab countries that want protection, pull our bases out of Turkey and Germany.bail out of the U.N. and when Saddam gets to a point that he more difficult to handle, let France, Germany, and Russia go in and deal with him. IF the Americans have to go in and clean up because of the lack of suppport or abilities of our questionable allies, then lay the big one on them. We don’t need to lose any of our fighting men and women’s lives over this. But one thing is for sure, we do not need the U.N. we are the ones that make the U.N. what it is.

  9. War says:

Silly French. I love war. War is good. Dropping bombs is good. Killing people is righteous. Death is good. The Iraqis will like it, they deserve it. After the bombs and missiles and death, they will be free and Osama Bin Laden will still be alive. Death. Killing. Bombs. Collateral damage. Fear. Screaming children. Charred corpses. Smoke. Blood. Don`t buy French cheese.

  11. Randy Sturgill says:

    Cost of containment.

The French haven’t paid the price of containment of Hussein. They forget why Al Qaeda was formed in the first place. To make America leave Saudi Arabia. We are IN Saudi Arabia to enforce the French “containment” of Hussein. We are IN Saudi Arabia at the request of the Saudis as they are afraid of “revenge” from Saddam for their support in the 1st gulf war. Our “containment” of Iraq is what caused the formation of Al Qaeda. Our “containment” had a cost of 2 towers, thousands of American lives and untold damage to our economy. The French haven’t had to pay the price of containment. We are no longer willing to pay the price of containing Saddam Hussein. The cost of war cannot be worse than the price containment has cost us in lives and treasure. And with war there is an END. Containment has no end. The costs of containment know no end. The cost of containment is too great. And the French have basically sided with Saddam. They feel no number of American dead or dollars is too high a price to pay for them to keep their lucrative business dealings with the Iraqis. Containment has failed. Containment is futile. As long as it is American dollars and American dead in the streets the French cry “Contain!! Contain!! Contain!!”. When the bodies of the French lie dead in the streets of Paris as our people were lying in the streets of New York then we will hear what the French cry. Until then the French have neither the right nor the HONOR to even comment on these comments. America has paid the price of the French policy and we are willing to pay no more. We tried it their way and it didn’t work. Now we’ll try it OUR way.

I´ll kill myself and bring better to the world.

    Yours Georgie …the little asshole

  15. I think the US should have invested all this
    money into education, because then
64% of our people wouldn´t be so stupid as
to follow Bush into this war !

  16. John Moore says:

    A Well-done to our President!!

Well now, who is doubting the great deeds of the everymighty George? No, You shouldn´t ! At last he will finish what Daddy was afraid to do 11 years ago. Little George wants to show his dad what his migthy son is capable of doing.
Yes, the Iraq is definitely the biggest threat in this world today. Never mind the Iran, never mind about North-Korea. No, no it´s the Iraq that threatens the world.
One thing that is worth mentioning: IRAQ has most of the oil of the entire world. And the best quality of oil.
BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!
Tons of atomicw eapons, atom-bombs, nuclear missiles. As we know the weapon inspectors found out that all those missiles reach up to 15% further than allowed!!
All those Intercontinental Weapons : Up to 150 kilometers ( that is 95 MILES ) !!!!! All those chemical weapons, hundreds of tons of it and all those biological granades. They are indeed the Thread of the century.
The worst thing is that they betrayed CNN. Yes, Iraq signed a contract with CNN stating that in the next war they would only use bows and arrows and a couple of BB guns so that the “on scene reporters” wouldn´get hurt.
Now this! They actually use guns!! Against the US !! Oh my god that ugly little mean Iraq. Not only did they betray the entire Univers……..no! they even betrayed CNN.
Next thing You know is they will use all those weapons of mass destruction!
Well what´s next for us? After this little escapade I think we should take on Pakistan…or Afghanistan because they also have nuclear weapons but are easier to defeat than Iran or north Korea, don´t y`all think?
Then move on to Russia or maybe France. Then Germany those cowards!
We actually should bomb Europe back to the stone ages! Those terrible people over there
( oops – isn´t that where we came from…. ah? ) those stupid Europeans. We should have never allowed them to have Mc Donalds!
Then take on those South-Americans! They will never cross our border again at night.
All those damned guys with mustaches from El Salvator, from Mexico, from Puerto Rico.
We will bomb the hell out of them. Yes!
Actually those guys in the North are also taking away our fish. Those canadians….?
Well we will think about that one for a while………………….
    But all those others !!!!

We will build as many atom-bombs as we want…. bawahbawah!!
We will be the police of the world and everyone who is against us will be kicked in the ass.
We don´t give a shit about any international law or convention ( unless it is about our POWs )
We don´t need the United Nations. No. We are the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.
We are the greatest of the world, the smartest too…

Thank God for others in America who believe in the ideals that this nation is founded upon. Everywhere I look I feel that everyone is against us. I am continually amazed how many people flew flags after 9/11 and continue to enjoy the freedoms of this land but are against the defense of it. All I say to that is that if your not for freedom your against it and if you don’t like America defending herself go to another country and see if you can find better. YOU WON’T!

  20. Happy to be an American says:

I have read a lot of disparaging remarks about American and Americans as a whole. We’re bulllies, don’t make sense and are in general stupid. But let’s face it ladies when other countries haved need help in the past (France, Germany to name a couple), it was the stupid and bullying Americans that had enough intelligence and strength to liberate you. If America/Americans are stupid and bullies. That must make France and Germany real idiots and weak wimps.

    Enough said!

  28. crombey says:

    Mesdames, Messieurs,

  29. First, we chose war because vicious dictators ignore diplomacy. It becomes their tool, not ours. Second, if you think diplomacy is so great, why did your country invade two countries in Africa this year, without UN sanction.

You imply that this war is about US access to oil. That has been refuted many times. You talk about how many Europeans are against the war. To Americans, that just shows us how foolish and decadent European society has become (old europe, of course).

I don’t have time to translate the rest in order to reply.

    John

  30. Why was this war started?

    1. the possible connection to Al Kaida
    2. to get Sadam Hussein
    3. to get the weapons of mass destruction

    and now:

there is no connection to Al Kaida
    where is Sadam ???
Where are the weapons of mass destruction
( I´m shure the CIA will deposit some somewhere)

so why don´t You stop this bloody holocaust You idiots !!!!!

talking about europe….. bawahhha what about
all the thousands of Indians You killed, thousands of Vietnamies YOU killed
    Koreans YOU killed
black people that were YOUR slaves even in the 20th century YOU killed.

    YOU lost the korean war
YOU lost the war in Vietnam
YOU lost the 1991 Golf War

    WHEN WILL YOU learn ?????

  31. Yes indeed, I would like to congratulate the
great Americans. They finally caught Bin Laden, now they caught Sadam and they also finally
got a hold of all the weapons of mass destruction. They liberated the Iraq and everything is fine in that country.

    hahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahha

    what fools they are !

  32. Werlo Mayers says:

Ok, this is how it works:

If Your economy is shot to hell, inflation going up and Your country is on the eve of a depression…..
You simply start a war with a third world country. The reason? Who cares? Weapons of mass destruction is a good reason to start any old war.
After You bombed the hell out of that country, destroyed all museums, pieces of art, churches and so on……… You take a few people of that country that have been living in asylum and put them into leadership positions.
Now all of the contracts are secured for the next 10 years. The build-up will cost billions of Dollars, Your firms will get rich and Your economy will grow.
If You fall into a recession again…..well aren´t there enough countries left.

Go on…. bomb the hell out of them

    Syria, Jordan………………………………………..just go on

( Copied out of a book from Mr. Adolf Bush )

  33. Some people (Mayers) wouldn’t recognize the truth if it bit them in the rear. They misstate the fact and misunderstand the means. They are so stupid that they have to label their pants legs to know how to get dressed.

  34. As a freeance political writer, I’ve just finished an article about boycotting French wine for a magazine called the Wine Report. It is freely distributed in the Atlanta, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Birmingham, Alabama areas (it is the largest freely distributed wine mag in the country). I would love to use your poster as artwork for the article. If that’s OK, to whom should the magazine attribute it; tinyvital.com?.

  35. Think a bit more says:

You just don’t understand that by boycotting french goods you will also hurt American workers who work for French companies in the U.S?

Don’t you understand thet because somebody disagree does not necessary means that he doesn’t like you or that he hates you.

Tolerance should be a value you should think about.

The U.S helped the French during the World War. Remember that all American historians agree to say that without the French help our country would not even exist. They financed our War of Independance.

You can disagree with someone, but it is childish and wrong not to tolerate someone else’s point of view.

  36. Gee, I have liked most French people I have known (which is plenty since I lived there during the previous Gulf War). That doesn’t mean I’m gonna buy their produces.

Tolerance is a much overrated virtue. I am tolerant of good people and not of bad.

You say it is “childish and wrong not to tolerate someone else’s point of view.” Depends on what you mean by tolerate.

Let me put it another way… it is self-defeating to accept someone else’s point of view if that endangers your citizens.

    Screw the french.

  37. Theidiot Moore says:

    When will You all understand??

Oh, You are wondering who Bush is ???????
He is the guy with the stupid grin on his face…
The guy who has problems with alcohol
The guy with an IQ lower than a pig
The guy who will bring water and electricity to Iraq.
( who took it away from them in the first place ? )
The guy who walkes like King-Kong
The guy that will make a police state out of the US
The guy that is responsible that everyone will hate the US

Germany had a guy like that…………………..remember………58 years ago

  38. Phil says:

First, I’m french… My english is not so good, but I’m gonna make some efforts to write in your language.

    Here’s my profile :

    - I hate 15% of french people who voted for a nazi b*stard last year.

    - I don’t want to think an individual is formated according to the country he live in. Many french men and women are bloody stupid and so is a part of american people. If you think someone is a crap because he’s american, french, iraqi, muslim, christian or jew, then you’re just a f*ckin’ facist.

    - Some want to punish french people boycotting french products. I personally boycott McDonald’s, Esso, Nike, Danone… not because they’re french or american, but just because I won’t give a buck to leading companies that wish to rule the world. Boycott’s not a problem to me, so do it, but chose products to boycott. I’ll personally keep promoting Rage Against The Machine, AdBusters magazine and Fight Club the movie ;)

    - A lot of you and us are sheeps. You are not your government, not a Pepsi’s leader… G.W. Bush and J.Chirac aren’t gods. They can declare war, but will never fight near the frontline, so they don’t care about guilty or innocent dead people killed ‘cause of their decisions.

    - It made me sick to see twin towers collapsed. It made me sick to see iraqi children died ‘cause of adults’ games. It made me sick to see pictures of my grand father coming back from a concentration camp. It makes me sick to see people suffering ‘cause the élite turns out political status to their own advantage .

This is what I am not ‘cause I’m french but because I’m who I am : an individual from the human beings.

  39. Phil,

You make a valid point – most people are just people. Personally, if I lived in Paris again, I would boycott McDonald’s because there is much, much, much better food available :-) I have problem with big companies in general, because they do not wish to rule the world, they just wish to sell things to everyone in the world.

However, the French Government, elected by the French people, is actively striving to harm America and took actions which probably cost American lives in the Iraq war. For that, France will be punished.

Oh, btw, your English is far better than my French has ever been.

  40. Phil says:

82% of french people voted against ‘LePen The Pig’ in the 2nd round… Only 19% voted for Chirac in the first round…

But whatever, boycott french products if you think it’s a solution… It’s a non-violent way to express your opinion, it won’t kill people, and that’s ok for me.

And if someday you want to taste some stinky cheese and a nice chablis, you will be welcome as an individual by some french individuals who are not a governement nor a company ;)

See you then when all of this will be cleared by the both of us !

    Peace…

The one thing about the internet that annoys me is having to listen to fat pea-brained americans rant on all the time. Shut up! I don’t care! Life is so much better here in Europe than over in the states. Complain all you want, invade whoever you want, but your country will always be devoid of culture. New York City is the only place in the entire united states that is not a backward cess-pit.
Get back to your crappy lives in your crappy country and stop annoying me

  42. Jim,
You don’t seem to smart yourself. You hate listening to Americans rant. By listen, of course, you mean read. So stop reading it, eh?

As far as culture, we have what counts.

And we are wrecking yours with Hollywood and McDonalds. Go suck it up!

  43. Eric Burton says:

What are French men smoking,I don’t want to know.We have saved them twice since the United States has been in existance. We freed them in World War Two from Nazi Germany, and in Vietnam.when we decided to take over the communist problem in Indochina, but let’s not dwell on the past and go for the real terrorist supporters,France and Russia.Let’s not forget Germany and China. The United States needs to tell Japan to build a modern day Nihon Kaigun(Japanese Navy).Japan needs to step up their terrorist hunting.Let’s just go to war with France!

  44. Eric Burton says:

German people used to be cool. You guys used to like war,but now you guys have sunk almost as low as the French.Fags.

    Seattle Times, 24-April-2003 :

“Airbus gets big US airline JetBlue order, sources say”
TOULOUSE, France — Airbus has won an order from JetBlue Airways for as many as 115 airplanes valued at $6.4 billion, people familiar with the planned purchase said.”…

So, where is the boycott ??????????

  46. Checked out the sale of French food products in the US? Way down. The owner of French’s Mustard (a US product) made a special plea to let people know it wasn’t a frog product.

The Airbus deal had been in the works for many months. Nevertheless I am disappointed that they would make the choice, but since Airbus is government subsidized it can outcompete Boeing on price.

  47. Ed Walraven says:

I have read pages of this crap. The supporters of France just do not get it.

The USA lost thousands of our troops over their bringing them out of a situation like the Iraq people were in.

Are the French pissed that we only lost several of our troops in Iraq? Are they pissed that their weponds sold to Iraq did not kill more of our troops? Or are they PISSED and afraid that we are finding that their leador was selling arms under the table to Iraq? France was also providing Iraq with information to Saddam on the priviate talks with France. France had a ship caught carrying parts to Nrth Korea from Germany to support their nuclear proogram. France went out of the way to work for those that oppose the USA.

Not in the USA news media, but, the arabicnews.com is reporting France is in syria making oil deals.

The French love dealing working with terroist countries…

Also look at the French attitude involving the Iraq oil, the oil the USA has sworn to use for the Iraq people.

look as the attitude of the French here on this site.

I support the right of the French to do as the choose, and I expect them to shut up and live with the choices THEY made. Anything we do is in reaction to their actions.

France is not our friend and they are afraid how much underhanded actions they have made.

to all you French people reading this, You started this, so please shut up and live with the results of your actions. To those of you supporting the boycott of Americian products,, I support you 500%. Screw France, we will make the products here in the USA.

I cancelled Our Vacition plans to visit the Statue of liberty, cause it was built by the french. We are going to New York in respect to 911, but will not go to the statue.

When germany or terroist invade or attack your country, all I can say is good luck!!!! and have a nice day!

  48. President Chirac speaks to the US nation! says:

We French would like to thank and further encourage all Americans who are boycotting our wine by buying it and spilling it out all day long (don’t worry, we have keep the best bottles for ourselves). Our exports to the US have never been as good, please extend this boycott to all our products! And do not listen to all those who say it’s against your constitution, bla, bla.

Do also not forget not to drink any Champagne whatsoever: You can (have to!) buy it and spill it but hey, no exceptions Ladies and Gentlemen, for your (cheap) parties you have to drink the cheap stuff instead, like a Bud (followed by a big fat buuurp), wine coolers, etc. Certainly a better fit to all the fat stuff you eat, and good enough for your (fat) bimbos, right?
Quote from an US newspaper: …In fact, some shoppers are stocking up on French products as a way off supporting its opposition to the United States’ attack on Iraq. “I go out of my way to buy French things these days”, said one shopper…”
Also many thanks for Fox News for having recently upgraded their TV equipment with Thomson, a French company: That’s true French boycott, keep it up! After all, it’s in your own interest, many Americans (individuals, pension funds, etc.) are shareholders of French companies…

And for those low-IQ fanatics stricktly only buying from the few non-French owned US companies, no problem: We are also shareholders! So whatever you buy, we also benefit from it. And boy-oh-boy, yes you guys need to spend a lot to feel Ok and to constantly service your big fat bellies.

By the way, should US companies in France also be boycotted? After all, they mainly employ French staff, don’t they? Ah, damned global economy…

Of course, a special thanks for all those who are publishing lists of our companies and products: We couldn’t have hoped for better free world-wide publicity and exposure. We’m Just disapointed to see there are altogether just a couple of million visitors that connected to the web sites, and many of them were French, how, like me, wanted to learn about my country’s industry: Amazing all the things we produce…and all the US company we own, no?

Further, after having changed from French to Freedom Fries (finally!), we suggest to also drop “restaurant”, a French word, from your vocabulary and to find a more appropriate name like “Fa(s)t Food Parlor”, or “Big Belly Heaven”? Bon Appetit, dudes!

By the way, are you also going to get rid of the Statue of Liberty? For all those who don’t remember, she was given to the US by France as a reminder that we helped you become independent some 230 years ago… but that’s a long time ago, right?

However, we hope for your own sake that you will never drop French Kissing: You know, make love, not war!

    Your friend Oncle Jack (Ch)irac!

Disclaimer: This and any of your email may have reached its destination through French-made IT/Telecom equipment. Americans are therefore encouraged to boycott the world-wide email system!

  49. French Dude says:

    Ed,

You said on your message, that your are going to boycott the Statue of Liberty because it’s French.

Godd idea. Imagine that everybody is going to boycott it. What will happen ? All the AMERICAN empoyees in charge of this Statue will be fired. Not the FRENCH employees.

So boycott it if you want…

  50. sirjames8 says:

O.K. People, we need to communicate that it’s not so much the French and German peoples that we are after! We are after their leaders! Since we can’t vote in their parliaments, all we can do is put pressure on the voters of the two countries to tell their elected Ministers of Parliament to have a vote of no confidence to remove Schroeder, Villepaine, and of course Yellow Jacques Chirac from power! ( I call him yellow Jacques not for cowardice, but because he is like a bad disease and he makes me feverish with anger!!!!! We also want the rench Intelligence services to cooperate fully with ours on Iraq( I’m sure they know where the W.M.D.s are!)
