Another Reason to Deflate the UN

Some of the Usual Suspects®, The Center for Constitutional Rights and Greenpeace (and who knows what other useful fools) are calling for the United Nations General Assembly to override the Security Council and have any US and British action against Iraq “declared illegal” and “a crime against the peace” [emphasis ours]:
Greenpeace has joined CCR in calling for the UN General Assembly to prevent a possible war in Iraq by using UN resolution 377, “Uniting for Peace”, a little known resolution that can be used when the Security Council is split on the issue of how to maintain international peace and security.
…If passed, it will put the U.S. and the U.K. on notice that a war without Security Council authorization is utterly illegal and a crime against the peace.”
Technically, it could allow the UN to use force against the US, UK, Australia and other coalition members.
Potentially it could allow coalition political and military leaders to be tried for war crimes in the International Criminal Court.
An aside: for Americans used to a free country, the average Freedom House freedom rating of the current ICC judges is 1.7, with the worst judge from a country scoring 3, while the US scores 1. Lower is better
