And for those who still whine “it’s all about the ooiilllllllll” - hey, it would have been far cheaper to steal Venezuela’s oil if that was our interest. They are a major oil producer, are a lot closer, have a very unfriendly (Castroite) government, and don’t have much of a military.
it’s all about the ooiilllllllll
OK. lets pretend to accept the premise that the U.S. wanted to get Iraq’s oil.
Q: So why did the U.S. invaded Afganistan? Were we after their rocks or their rubble?
John seems to have forgotten about the Rall theory that we invaded Afghanistan so that we could build an oil pipeline through it.
There’s no oil in Afghanistan, but there’s a lot on the far side of it, see?
If the war in Iraq was about the iol why are we spending 87 billion of our own money and telling the Iraqis it is their oil not ours. If we want lower gas prices we can buy from Africa and not fire a shot. I use to love the idea of buying from Russia but since they came up dirty in Iraq I say let them sit a little longer and think about it.
