Most Americans recognize that one of the punishments for committing felonies, as opposed to misdemeanors, is the permanent loss of a number of rights. Included in these are the right to possess firearms and the right to vote.

A striking anomaly in the California Recall election was the voting pattern in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also striking is the arrogance of our betters who live there:
Bay Area voters opposed the recall by 63 percent to 37 percent — while Californians as a whole voted to oust Davis 55 percent to 45 percent. [...]
