“Threat Matrix” - PC Propaganda

Thu October 16th, 2003 21:03 MST

I nearly finished reading Ann Coulter’s “Treason,” which among other things describes the liberal “anti” crowd’s methods and inanities. The current chapter covers their ways of obstructing the War on Terrorism, more properly called The First Terrorist War. Needless to say, Hollywood idiotarians figure large in this effort.

By coincidence, tonight I watched “Threat Matrix” by those same Hollywood idiots. The blatant subtext was [very timely] how the War on Terrorism is destroying America and hurting innocent Arabs.

ColumbusIndigenous Peoples Day

BEZERKELEY

The birds must have looked down with envy Saturday, as Indian dancers, drummers and singers dressed in their finest feathers, skins and bells gathered for a Pow Wow to celebrate Berkeley’s 12th annual Indigenous Peoples Day at Civic Center Park.
The birds were wondering if *their* feathers were next! Where were the animal rights protesters? Were the feathers and skins artificial and made in China (like many of the “Indian” souveneirs available along old Route 66)? At least the wearers were safe, since Native Americans are the only Americans who are not sent to jail for posssession of eagle feathers! Consistency is not a characteristic of the left.

Censorship by Librarians

Sun October 12th, 2003 12:22 MST

The cold war was an incredibly significant period in world history. One would expect major libraries to maintain an extensive collection on this gigantic historical struggle between freedom and communist tyranny. Furthermore, given the shrill statements of librarians, one would hope that censorship would not be one of their favorite activities.

One would be wrong!

Victor David Hanson on the French

Sun October 12th, 2003 11:30 MST

Victor David Hanson is one of the best writers on the poorly named “War on Terror.” His latest commentary (which should be read completely) has this nice little tidbit:

French newspapers may blare, “The slowly rotting situation in Iraq, the Mideast and Afghanistan has destroyed the myth American omnipotence,” but they don’t tell us how removing the Taliban and Saddam Hussein is worse than selling weapons to them — or why and how France lost 30 times more of its own citizens to heat in a month than we lost soldiers in battle in two years. Apparently French apartments are far more deadly places than the Pakistani border or the Sunni Triangle.

This is not the heart of the article… just funny. Read the whole thing for a nice perspective on our war.

AP: Spinning the News on Cuba

Fri October 10th, 2003 10:29 MST

The AP has an significant foreign policy story about Bush seeking to spread democracy to Cuba and tighten the noose on the tyrannical Castro regime. But they couldn’t report it that way. Instead, George Gedda, the writer, had to spin it… starting this story with “Eager to please a key Florida constituency…”.

If You Are Too Stupid to Vote Correctly, Don’t Vote

Sun October 5th, 2003 11:24 MST

Dennis Miller’s latest Fox News Monologue is online. A sample:

Let me reiterate, if you’re such a complete zipper-head that you cannot maneuver your way around a chad, then guess what? I don’t want you to vote because you’ll vote stupid and I’m not talking about run of the mill stupidity here either. I’m talking about weapon-grade stupidity.

Iraq and North Korea - Guilty as Charged

Sat October 4th, 2003 18:54 MST

While the Democrats and their tame press scramble frantically to convince the American people that the Iraq war was about an imminent threat (never stated by the Administration) and the the poor, ignorant Democrat congressmen were “mislead” by the administration into voting for the war, information comes out vindicating the war, and also vindicating the “Axis of Evil” designation for Iraq and North Korea.

In the Washington Post, Bill Gertz and Stephen Dinan write:

Feminists Continue to Destroy Our Military

Sat October 4th, 2003 11:14 MST

The Arizona RepulsiveRepublic reports:

Two commanders at Luke Air Force Base have been relieved of their command after two strippers performed on the base at a ceremony for new pilots.
Yes, obviously the strippers decreased the capability of our military, so we had to do something!
Lt. Col. Anthony Comtois, who led an operations group, and Lt. Col. Leonard Dick, who headed a fighter squadron that was part of Comtois’ group, were removed from their leadership positions.
Let’s see… two officers’ careers ruined. Millions of dollars in training (of those officers) thrown away. Morale in the units damaged.
Six other airmen were also named in the investigation conducted by a military official from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. A spokesman for Luke would not provide details of the incident, laid out in a nearly 3-inch-thick investigative report delivered Friday, but said there was no sexual contact with the strippers.
No wonder we can’t find weapons of mass destruction. Our best investigators are in the Air FarceForce, creating 3 inch reports on a ceremony!

This is Hillary’s revenge. Imagine what would happen to the Air Force with her as the actual Commander In Chief! The feminists started the anti-male witch hunt long ago (remember how many Navy pilots we lost in the “tail-hook” “scandal?”), and it continues.

They just don’t get it! Young men, especially the aggressive hyper-macho types it takes to be good combat fighter pilots, are going to do this kind of thing. Folks may find it distasteful, but I’d rather have a distasteful military than a timid one!

Hanson: The War Depends on OUR Hearts and Minds

Fri October 3rd, 2003 22:57 MST

Victor Davis Hanson has yet another inspired article in his series on the War on Terror. A sample:

So here we have the stakes in this last, big hand of Middle East poker. Our enemies are betting that our very freedom, affluence, raucous democratic politics, and shoot-from-the hip media will still prove true to form and thus, sooner or later, we will quit — especially as an election nears and the memory of 3,000 incinerated Americans fades.

In contrast, Mr. Bush’s hunch is that the tragedy of September changed us all, and his own resoluteness will prove the better hand. In other words, as polls drop and sunshine supporters fold, he senses that America — and with it civilization — will still win, and in a very big way, thus ending for good this awful contest of the last quarter-century.

Check it out!
