Dean: Do As I Say, Not As I Do
Sat November 8th, 2003 16:28 MSTHar Har…. Dean is rejecting federal funds because he doesn’t want to fall under that campaign finance laws! So much for the “principled” stand of the Democrats and their RINO buddy John McCain!
The main purpose of campaign finance laws is incumbent protection! Otherwise they would never have passed. A horrible side effect is to remove our most important First Amendment rights - the right to free speech on political issues!
If you own a TV station, you can say what you want about a political candidate. If you don’t, you are prohibited by law from buying time from that station to say something!
Will the national press say much about this hypocrisy and the failure of campaign finance reform?
Don’t count on it!
