Put the Bodies on Display

Posted By John Moore on July 22, 2003

If Saddam’s sons, Uday and Qusay are really dead, we should put their bodies on public display and plaster pictures of them all over Iraq.

The current sstruggle in Iraq is for the support or at least acquiescence of the population. A major obstacle is the U.S. failure to kill the Saddam and his greatly feared sons, and the resultant guerilla warfare by their supporters. This leads to hope on the part of those who would like to reinstate the Baathist regime, and fear and inaction in those who might otherwise help us.

Reliable information is hard to come by in the streets of Iraq. True and wildly fanciful rumors spread with equal speed through the streets.

For this reason, solid proof is needed. Furthermore, brutal truth is powerful. In the west, the display of bodies or their pictures is considered tasteless. In this situation it is a powerful statement.

It says to those who doubt: we really killed them. They are gone. They are no longer a factor.

It says to those who oppose us: we are killers of evil and are not ashamed of it. You should not act against us. You should have no hope unless you change your allegiance.

It says to those who should help us: we are killers of evil and are not ashamed of it. We will protect you.

Finally, when we catch Saddam himself, we should do the same thing. If we get him alive, show him publicly in chains. If we kill him, show his body.

On a less serious vein, an added benefit will be the howling, ranting, squeeking and wailing from the Axis of Useful Fools™ including the New York Times and the European “elite”!

I say turn the bodies over to the Iraqi people in the park in front of the Palestine Hotel and make sure to video the reaction. Have to make it Army video because the newspeople will surely embargo the story.
