Haliburton and the School Teachers
Fri February 13th, 2004 14:31 MSTA friend of mine, who is tired of the economic illiteracyand demoguery on the “Haliburton” issue comments:
If Haliburton isn’t making a good profit, the the school teachers should demand their money back!
His point: Haliburton, like most evil capitalist running-dog imperialist-helper worker-oppressing environment-destroying corporations is owned largely by retirement accounts, with teachers holding some of the highest stakes.
He also really likes corporate taxes, because they are not progressive. They are simply passed on to consumers, not favoring the poor over the not-so-poor.
The one point that keeps getting overlooked in the Haliburton issue is this….
While Mr. Chaney worked there for a couple of years, Haliburton has AWAYS been owned by the Johnson family as majority share holders…. that is JOHNSON as in President Lyndon Baynes Johnson. His wife, Lady Bird, is the major share holder of Hailburton before Mr. Chaney got there, while Mr. Chaney was there, and after Mr. Chaney left.
If Haliburton received direct non-compete contracts, it was not Mr. Chaney who benefited the most, it was the dimolibs. Haliburton was a favorite DoD contractor for the klintoons also. You can look it up.
