New Kerry Campaign Poster

Randal Robinson has a recommended new Kerry Campaign Poster.

Personally, I would have it with the other person doing the kissing, and at the other end of the anatomy.

I’m increasingly astounded at how the media see an issue one way, and I see it yet another.

For example, my morning newspaper featured the following article, “Cheney, Kerry let barbs fly on Iraq: Judgment at issue on war anniversary.”

Associated Press reporter Mike Glover, wrote: “Democrat John Kerry assailed President Bush on Wednesday for clinging to a failed policy that leaves Americans mired in Iraq ‘with the target squarely on their backs,’ and Vice President Dick Cheney argued that his boss’s rival lacks the judgment to act as commander in chief.”

Frankly folks, I saw a video replay of this interview on Fox Television last evening, and here’s how I see things. As always, or at least since the firing of the opening-gun at this year’s Democratic Primary, Kerry attacks the Bush Administration with baseless, ad hominem gems like, “You’re not supporting the boys in Iraq!” “You’re gutting the military and veterans programs!” “You’re alienating our allies!” “The sky is falling…the sky is falling!” Meanwhile, soft-spoken Cheney, who, like Bush, seems a bit too reluctant to respond to the never-ending liberal attack for fear of ‘alienating’ special interest groups, at one point praised Kerry for his recent stance on Iraq, a platform in which Kerry supported giving Bush the congressional authorization for war in 2002. Following yet another stinging round of Kerry demagoguery, Cheney mildly responded by saying, “Whatever the explanation [for Kerry's ongoing attacks against Bush], it is not an impressive record for someone who aspires to become commander in chief in this time of testing for our country….”

Let it be known that I support Bush and Cheney in time of war, just as I would support Senator Kerry as president in time of war. But, frankly, I’m growing weary of lukewarm Republican responses to incessant Democratic ignominy. Like those besieged Marines at tiny Wake Island, I sit in my own little political foxhole here at home, anxiously waiting for the Democrats’ fleet to pull within range of our big guns, and I think, “What the hell!! When are we gonna’ open-fire on these people?”

Why are we holding back? I’m sure I’m the only one who feels this way, but I’m having a hell of a hard time reconciling the ‘hero-Kerry’ of Vietnam with the contemporary-Kerry of big-money, big-catsup fame. Somehow, all this ‘tough talk’ by Kerry leaves me thinking, “Senator, I’m from Arkansas, and our women think men who talk like you, sissies.”

I realize that Senator Kerry’s Silver Star is in the books, but I still think, “This wuss’ couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag!”
