Yes, I served in ‘NAM…three tours…until the Lady Bird rate was fulfilled, and out of 23…2 of us came home.

One of the things I remembered, and confirmed tonight in a local pub, was that the BIG medals (Silver & Bronze Stars) were always reserved for the officers, or “senior enlisted”, and still are!

4 “Hearts” , 5 “Commendations” & 32 “Air medals” later, I still came back to hostile territory, and am still paying for it!

I really wish that we had a candidate to vote for! It’s so sad to realise that we have to choose the lesser of two evils!

Thanks for the site. I am not a Vietnam Vet… the war ended the year I graduated from High School. I find it hard to believe that the Democrates have the guts to run a full blown communist sympathizer for president and this country and the media embrace it.

The reason that I am here is that I am trying to find the reasons that, in only four months of service in Vietnam, Kerry recieved three Purple Hearts along with a Bronze and Silver Star. What did he do to recieve these medals. Was the action that he saw that intense? Something just don’t sound right about this story. Sounds like someone was helping him to fill out the war hero section of his resume.

Anyway, where would I have to go on this information hyway in order to get the truth on this matter. I want to thank the Vietnam Vets for their service, and it sounds like you guys are going to have to make this country aware of who and what this man really is… the media has already given him a pass on this. Thanks again for the forum, and I pray to God that this country is not stupid enough to put a communist in the White House.

You are probably right about Sampley, but who cares? I have no reason to like him, but a lot of reason to dislike Kerry. Kerry is more than a “knucklehead”, but if that’s enough for you, fine.

And what is all this “WTF you gonna do about it” stuff? You spend a lot of time talking about Sampley and truth and facts and then go off about being a “liberal”. What’s your complaint anyway? That we aren’t ass-kicking liberals like you? Big deal.

I’ll tell you what though…the two guys I’d like to see as president are both republicans. McCain and Powell. I’d vote repulican for either those guys. But I’m sorry…I have to vote against Bush.

I am not using that argument, but rather one which weighs the relative truthfullness of the people involved and assigns a conditional judgement.

Please thank your dad from me for his service to our nation, and tell him that I say “Welcome Home”.

But also please ask him to vote against John Kerry – he can go to Winter Soldier to see why, if he doesn’t already know. And ask him to look at Vietnam Vets for The Truth to see how he can help, if he is interested.

That said…i’m on another blog right now that is using the same argument, ….”You have no proof that its NOT true…so it MUST be true.” The other person just wasn’t as`polite when making her statement.

So I poised to her “You like intimate encounter with midgets (sorry…little people).”

However, it does not make Sampley’s claim automatically invalid. Since Sampley has long been a troublemaker, and Kerry has previously shown poor impulse control, I find Sampley’s story to be creditable – not provably true – but certainly not proven false. In other words, I believe it is likely that it happened.

So while I thank you for the very interesting link, you have failed to show that Sampley’s account is incorrect. At best, we have the word of someone who has (by your link) a shady past against the word of a person who has proven his willingness to lie under oath about his fellow veterans and his country, and to do so blatantly and frequently, coodinating the campaign with our enemy during wartime.

Who would you believe? You see why I cannot say for certain whether or not the event happened, but am more inclined to believe Ted Sampley than John Kerry.

I am not going to publish anything about Ted Sampley, because I have no personal knowledge of him. I am not affiliated with his group (other than having bought a hat and bumper sticker because I couldn’t find any other ones that showed my status as a Vietnam Vet who opposes Kerry).
