The Supreme Court has ruled that non-Americans held at Guantanamo have a right to use American courts.
Once again, the Court is acting in an insane manner. One wonders how they discovered this right in the same Constitution that did not give that right to 2,000,000 enemy POWs at the end of World War II.
This will significantly damage our ability to interrogate prisoners, ultimately leading to many more American deaths.
The Supreme Court has shown that it has yet to wake up to the threats facing America.
Imagine, if you will, Bin Laden, upon capture, being read his Miranda Rights and then refusing to talk without a lawyer present. Imagine one of those who decapitated an American given the right to a lawyer.
Half of America is not ready to fight a war. As our enemies decapitate our citizens, our courts give them the rights previously due only to people in our country. And of course the main stream media and the Democrats are doing their best to convert the Iraq war into Vietnam.
We are not fighting an honorable enemy. We are fighting evil savages. We are fighting people who do not recognize any concept of rights.
But don’t tell the Supreme Court - it might disurb their slumber.
One wonders what it will take to wake up America? A nuke in the Supreme Court chambers? A dirty bomb in Manhattan? Whatever, the surviving perpetrators will have rights granted by the court.
FOX News is reporting that Israeli commando forces are in Northern Iraq, and that an excess of US carrier battlegroups are heading towards the Persian Gulf.
Today, Iran stated it was going to restart its Uranium enrichment programs. In the last year, it has constructed large facilities for nuclear processing, and then buried them to protect them from attack. A considerale number of defensive positions surround these facilities.
In addition, there have been several reports of Iranian force buildups along the Iraq border (3 battalions) and of Iranian forces penetrating into Iraq.
Just revealed: An Iranian airport has been closed for a couple of months because, intelligence analysis believe, a spill of weapons grade uranium from North Korea happened. Note that weapons grade uranium, in sufficient quantity (a few tens of kilograms) can be directly fabricated into a nuclear weapon.
Iran also has a serious internal unrest problem. Real power is exercised only by unelected Ayatollahs, but a democratic structure underlies it - a Potemkin democracy. It has a largely young population, who want freedom and specifically like the United States.
A commentator on FOX stated that if Iran were to have a nuclear weapon, it would use it. Ayatollah Rafsanjani made a statement 18 months ago that can be interpreted to mean that it would attack Israel if it had a nuke, and simply accept the huge retaliatory casualties, on the logic that there are few Israelis and many Muslims. While this commentator considers it unlikely that Iran would use a nuclear weapon against Israel, Israel cannot afford to take the chance. A single nuclear weapon would devastate Israel. A ground burst weapon, used under the right meteorological conditions, could kill 100,000 or more people, and make Tel Aviv and Jerusalem uninhabitable for many years. Another possibility is the weapon could be given to Al Qaeda and used against the United States or Moscow. Thus the US also cannot affort to take any chances.

Most Americans felt that the World Trade Center should be replaced with a defiant symbol - the same structure or more - representing America’s refusal to be cowed by cowards.
But that isn’t what’s happening. Mary Hart reports that a much more wimpy, artsy-fartsy approach is being taken.
Check it out at her site.
You know, sometimes the craziest ideas come up:
Israeli-made bullets bought by the U.S. Army to plug a shortfall should be used for training only, not to fight Muslim guerrillas in Iraq and Afghanistan, U.S. lawmakers told Army generals on Thursday.Since the Army has other stockpiled ammunition, “by no means, under any circumstances should a round (from Israel) be utilized,” said Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, the top Democrat on a House of Representatives Armed Services subcommittee with jurisdiction over land forces.
[ … ]
Although the Army should not have to worry about “political correctness,” Abercrombie was making a valid point about the propaganda pitfalls of using Israeli rounds in the U.S.-declared war on terror, said Rep. Curt Weldon, the Pennsylvania Republican who chairs the subcommittee on tactical air and land forces.
“There’s a sensitivity that I think all of us recognize,” Weldon told the Army witnesses, including Maj. Gen. Buford Blount, who led the U.S. Third Infantry Division that captured Baghdad in April 2003.
I once had lunch with a mercenary who had found Muslims in Africa. His group always greased their bullets with pigfat. Sounds fine to me. If they’re worth killing, they’re worth offending.

The following letter from Kevin Kim of Big Hominid speaks for itself:
Fellow blogger,I am sending this message to the bloggers on my blogroll (and a few
other folks) in the hopes that some of you will print this, or at
least find it interesting enough for comment. I’m not usually the
type to distribute such messages, but I felt this was important enough
to risk disturbing you.As some of you may already know, a wing of the South Korean
government, the Ministry of Information and Culture (MIC), is
currently clamping down on a variety of blogging service providers and
other websites. The government is attempting to control access to
video of the recent Kim Sun-il beheading, ostensibly because the video
will have a destabilizing influence. (I haven’t seen the video.)
As a Vietnam Veteran, I believe that this information needs to be provided to all Americans. We didn’t serve so that a an enemy sympathizer and propagandist would become President of the Country he hurt so badly. I have joined Vietnam Vets for the Truth, and you can help us. We need donations (see the web page), we need volunteers to put out the word, and we need folks to go to our September 12 rally.
THE KERRY STORY
Looks Good if you Believe The Media
To veterans and military people, Kerry seems like a good bet: A war hero (he’ll tell you that if you listen 5 seconds), a long time Senator and a Vietnam Veteran. He has a number of what he calls his “brothers in arms” at every campaign stop.
Only The Good is Reported
But this is a very misleading look at John Kerry. His real record is of somebody no serviceman would want in his unit, and no American would want in charge of the country.
The Real John Kerry - Damage to Vietnam Veterans and His Country
But although all of this is public record, most Americans and too many veterans don’t know the true depth to which this man descended in his quest for office in the early 70s, the lies he told to all that slandered every one of us who participated in the Vietnam War, that caused many Vietnam Veterans to be unable to get jobs and others to be considered as potential nut cases, while our great nation’s reputation was dragged through the mud, mud that clings to Vietnam Veterans, every serviceman from that time until today, and most importantly, to the reputation of our country.
The Real Kerry - Slandering Veterans and our Country
How many Americans and Vietnam Veterans know that while our POWs were in the Hanoi Hilton, Kerry was traipsing around the country, slandering all American soldiers and our country’s reputation. [NOTE to skeptics: The link is to an article which contains a link to the original CSAN transcript of Kerry’s charges when made, to the US Senate]
The Real John Kerry - Used in Anti-American Propaganda This Month
How many Americans know that just this month, the communist Vietnamese government attacked US policy in Iraq, in an article which” proved” that the United States fought using atrocities as a daily routine event, using the name and quotes from John Kerry. [NOTE: the article linked is on a web site in Vietnam, run by the Vietnamese News Service, controlled by the Vietnamese Government]
The Real John Kerry - POWs Don’t Want Him Elected
How many know that Hanoi Hilton POWs have written letters (Jim Warner, Joe Crecca, Admiral and former Senator Jeremiah Denton)asking people not to vote for Kerry. Among other things, Kerry’s speeches were played by their captors to demoralize the POWs.
The Real John Kerry - Dictators Want Him Elected
Leaders in the tyranical regime of Vietnam think we should elect John Kerry.
The Real John Kerry - Honored by Vietnamese for Helping the Communists Win
How many know that the communist tyranny in Vietnam has Kerry’s picture in a place of honor - a room dedicated to foreigners who helped the communist victory. [We have had direct contact with the person who took these pictures, and some of the ones showing context were taken on our request.]
The Real John Kerry - Denounced by his Chain of Command and 200 Fellow Swift Boaters
How many realize that those who knew Kerry best, all of his commanders up to the CINCPAC, and 200 other Swift Boat sailors gave a press conference and signed a letter claiming that Kerry was unfit to be Commander in Chief? Additional Report
The Real John Kerry - Trying to Hide The Stain of his Perfidy
How many know that Kerry himself views his anti-war activities so harmful to his presidential bid that he covered up the fact that he was an officer in the US Naval Reserve the whole time, including when he met with the enemy? He even got the Boston Globe to publish that he was given an honorable discharge in 1970, when he didn’t actually get one until 1978. [I disccovered this coverup in process. Several of us were curious about why his public biography had a 2 year gap in service. Now we know. The Boston Globe article still has the false discharge date - you can find it, and then compare it to the military records on John Kerry’s own web site.
Where to Keep Track of the Truth about John Kerry

Breaking through the Media Iron Curtainl - We Need Your Help
We are determined that even in the face of the Iron Curtain of the pro-Kerry press, the truth will come out. Americans and especially veterans need to understand that John Kerry slandered our nation and our veterans, and that the stain remains to this day on us and our nation. We insist that the media show the truth.
If you can help, please contact your local TV stations, talk and news radio, and your local newspaper, and ask them why Americans are not being told the truth. It is best if you send a fax or make a telephone call, not just email. Please let others, especially Vietnam Veterans know about this site and the other two given here.
If you think American democracy functions best when both sides are heard, please help. Kerry has the support of leftist billionaire George Soros and the pro-Kerry press. Whe have nothing except you and those you inform.
Please Let Us Know About Your Efforts
Finally, if you make the effort, please let us know what you did and how it worked out. You can leave a comment at the “contact” entry here.
Please Help Vietnam Vets for the Truth
Again, we need your help - you can donate and you can find out about our programs at Vietnam Vets for the Truth.
Thank you very much.

Many have wondered why John McCain not only turned down Kerry’s offer of a vice presidential slot, to the point of rejecting Kerry after he crawled on hands and knees to get McCain. Instead, McCain but campaigned with Bush this weekend. Kerry and McCain are known as good friends, but the relationship between McCain and Bush was poisoned in 2000.
But unlike Kerry, John McCain was a Prisoner of War in the Hanoi Hilton, and committed an act of great sacrifice when he refused offer of free release early in his imprisonment. On the other hand, Kerry got out of combat as fast as he could, after only 4 months, with three minor wounds, one self inflicted and merely a scratch.
Here are some possible reasons McCain is no longer such a good buddy of John Kerry:

The Reason for this Article
This article is a result of a long and often acrimonious discussion in the comments section of Dr. Jay Rosen’s journalism blog, and a challenge by him to recommend how media bias should be handled. Dr. Rosen is Chairman of the Department of Journalism at NYU and runs the PressThink blog on journalism related subjects.
Example of anti-Bush Bias
This article provides an example of the serious and almost uniform anti-Bush bias in the American main stream media (hereafter abbreviated as MSM). It was placed on this forum rather than Jay’s to avoid contaminating the discussion of how to deal with media bias by creating another collection of acrimonious exchanges tangential to Jay’s preferred topic. The primary elements of the MSM in this context include CBS,NBC,ABC,AP,CNN,NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, and LA Times. PBS may or may not fit the categorization. Fox News, the Washington Times, and the New York Post usually show a conservative bias.
This article exists so that readers can judge for themselves, in one case, whether media bias was significant, and also so that those who do not believe that the MSM is biased can try the following thought experiment: read the entire story, but imagine that the person being criticized is George Bush, and that those criticizing him were members of his Texas Air National Guard Unit (including his chain of command up to a senior general) and those defending him spokespeople for the Bush campaign..
Other examples exist, but this one involves a uniquely historical event.

From Crush Kerry
Are Heinz employees working on the campaign?A series of e-mails made available to crushkerry.com may mean trouble for the Kerry campaign and the family of charities collectively known as the Heinz Family Philanthropies. The e-mails show employees of the various Heinz Family Philanthropies are deeply involved in John Kerry’s campaign for president, specifically in the recruitment of a speech coach, campaign scheduling, campaign organization, and even the setting up of a healthcare town hall-style meeting.
The Heinz Family Philanthropies are tax-exempt charitable organizations and are forbidden to engage in partisan political activity.
The e-mails could become more evidence in what is a looming headache for the Kerry campaign, which, along with the liberal Media Fund, is the subject of a Federal Elections Commission investigation into whether or not they conspired to break the new campaign finance law.
