Is Roger L. Simon Losing It?
Sat February 12th, 2005 13:34 MSTA blog friend, Roger L Simon, is having/has had his gall bladder removed about now.
Roger is well known as a mystery writer, playwright, director, and most significantly, an influential and insightful blogger , The Less Abled Lost Angeles Times has labelled him a “main stream blogger”.
We hope the docs don’t remove his spleen, his brain, his heart , or his typing hands, and leave enough gall around for him to function at full tilt boogie. He’ll need it all for basting and roasting the usual suspects - the MSM, Democrat foreign policy, etc.
In any case, if you know the latest status of Roger’s condition, please post it as here (as a comment), so we can find out how he is doing, and when to expect his bloggerific come-back.
God Speed, Roger, and enjoy the morphine while you can.
[UPDATE: Roger has returned, admittedly a bit high on Vicodin, but hey, what’s a 60’s guy to do but enjoy it?
See here for the old geezer himself.
I tried to call this morning, no answer from his hospital room.
That’s because he was in surgery at the time. He is now gall bladder free and resting with the help of some morphine. He should be home tomorrow or Monday at the latest.
dear roger:
howard kurtz on reliable sources this morning did a fine balancing act. blogs had jeff jarvis, commentators had bill press, and established types had david gergen. blogs also got visuals. kurtz maximized jordan’s failure to release the tape and clearly apologize for overstating, and minimized what i consider the true heavyweights in the discussion–barney frank and chris dodd, guys who can throw their weight around the government if there are facts to follow. jarvis did a good job of defusing the knock that blogs are a “lynch mob,” emphasizing citizen access to information and distribution. good for us. we’re changing the rules.
