How I Feel about Russia after the Georgia Invasion

John Moore | August 11, 2008

A new adornment for the blog front page:

No Wonder Media Reporting is so Useless

John Moore | August 11, 2008

This speaks for itself [emphasis added]:
Instead of lenses the imaging system uses an array of microscopic sensors in front of which is a specially made “mask” randomly punctured with holes in a particular pattern.
Actually, though, the articleis pretty interesting.

Russian Goal: Georgia as a Satellite Again?

John Moore | August 10, 2008

The Russians are not satisfied with driving the Georgians out of South Ossetia. According to the U.K. Guardian:
Seizing the opening offered by President Mikheil Saakashvili’s doomed military incursion last week, Moscow also insisted the Georgian leader should resign, according to senior US diplomats.

More on the Invasion of the Sudetenland, err Georgia

John Moore | August 10, 2008

Hey, if GM Roper can post his, I guess I’ll have to post mine to keep up! Meet our future Conservative and a Storm Chaser.
Congrats, GM!

When it Rains in the Desert, Things Pop Up

John Moore | August 7, 2008

The Phoenix metro area had one of its summer monsoon summer storms tonite. Rainfall ranged from .5″ to 1.5″ today. Now if you don’t live in a desert, that sounds like no big deal. But the desert soil doesn’t soak up moisture very well.
The result… this man-hole cover popped up at 32nd St. and Indian [...]

The Dead Days of August

John Moore | August 6, 2008

So here it is… August in a presidential year, and nothing is happening. And we’re all bored sick after all the media attention on the campaign.
We’ve had Obama the Underdog. That didn’t last
Then Obama the great Healer of the Racial Divide… err.. and a disciple of Reverend Wright – so much for that.
Then Obama [...]
